Hippocrates Kitchen
A self healing exercise in the kitchen, for the women at home nourishing family and friends www.facebook.com/hippocrateskitchen

Let our food be our best medicine.
It was Hippocrates "The father of medicine" who said this...
Hippocrates & Kitchen combine:
With the first step "first do no harm"...
Remove the processed packaged foods, empty sugars, wheat flour, baking powder with aluminium, processed iodised table salt,
No 'heated' honey use only raw honey, a living food with many enzymes which heat destroys.
Good fresh oils & fats eg: virgin olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, sesame oil and ghee.
Hippocrates Kitchen prepares healing food at home
Cooking, sharing, discovering which foods are our best medicine,
Gathering around the kitchen table with family and friends, a happy occasion.
Remembering to soak grains, nuts, seeds and pulses overnight, necessary for digestion.
Slow cook or pressure cook our free range and grass fed meats with the bone for nourishment
Use organic spelt flour, one of the original 7 ancient grains, causing less issues than modern hybrid wheat flour.
Lowering carbohydrate consumption, dependant on daily exercise level.
Recognising our friendly goats yogurts and cheeses cause less dairy allergies
Inspiration is shared and treats include natural dark chocolate but with minimum sugar.
Use real salt and/or kelp sea salt naturally iodised and full of minerals, essential in any Hippocrates kitchen.
Smoothies with berries, soaked raw nuts, goats yogurt, hempseed oil and coconut water is a pre/probiotic way to start the day.
Freshly juiced organic carrots, oranges, healing for the lungs
Raw apple cider vinegar (with the mother) in hot or cold water is a good 'alkalinising' start to the day.
A few drops of Bitters in still or sparkling water and fresh lime is a delicious drink at 5pm while preparing a meal and is good for the stomach and the liver.... a little splash of alcohol without the sugar.
Gelatine jelly's are also good for the stomach and are collagen rich for our skin and joints.
And remember pumpkin seeds will fight off parasites, dry toast them for a topping on fruit, yogurt, porridge, salads.
Bernard Jensen and his classic book "foods that heal" reminded me as a Bowen therapist about the true value of our organic minerals, for the healing pathways, they are vital. And when we eat the food as found in nature these chemical salts in their organic (organised) form are easily assimilated and absorbed, our bodies match on a cellular level what nature provides. He also said if an illness is not getting better the patient should introduce goats whey, then a few days later small amounts of chlorella (in tart cherry juice) until energy is restored and healing begins.,
